Trivia

This is a concept album. According to the band, the album deals with the theory that “as a test, God created all kinds of different religions and released those upon humanity to see if they would be able to find the true nature of them, realizing that in all religions it is actually the same”.

“The idea behind the cover is that we are all born innocent – say, naked – and as your live progresses you will be marked for life. This is what the tattoos stand for. The apple is a symbol for Eve, who became a mortal by eating that piece of fruit. It was my own idea to be butt naked on the cover, though many people think Nuclear Blast (our label) has pushed me to do so. I really had to convince the other band members that I really wanted to do it – for me it’s a form of pure art. That’s why I didn’t really mind taking my clothes off. The shoot with Andrea Beckers was a strange experience and Mattias Norén (who has designed the booklet) has turned it into something really beautiful.” – Simone Simons

“The whole album is about humanity, and the many sides to humanity. The first part of the album is about the negative side of the human psyche. It’s about greed, addiction. Then you have the second part of the album that deals about religion. Then the third part of the album which deals about nature. So it’s kind of a wide topic covering a lot of aspects about the world.” – Simone Simons
