Trivia

In September 2017, the Caribbean island of Barbuda was hit by the category 5 hurricane Irma. Tarja, who has a very close relationship to the place and its inhabitants, created a new version of the Christmas carol “Feliz Navidad”. All incomes generated were donated, with earMUSIC doubling the amount.

Simone Simons (Epica), Michael Monroe, Doro Pesch, Tony Kakko (Sonata Artica), Elize Ryd (Amaranthe), Marko Saaresto (Poets of the Fall), Timo Kotipelto (Stratovarius), Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil), Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Deep Purple), Floor Jansen (Nightwish), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian) and Sharon Den Adel (Within Temptation) sing with Tarja.

Simone recorded her part at home. She sang the line “I wanna wish you a merry Christmas from the bottom of my heart” several times and send the audio file to Tarja.
